Industrial Networks and OT Integration
MEC 360 provides an in-depth study of industrial networking technologies, crucial for integrating manufacturing and process control systems with enterprise-level networks. The curriculum covers core concepts such as industrial Ethernet protocols, secure network segmentation using Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), and the critical role of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) in achieving deterministic communication for real-time control. Students will gain practical experience in configuring network devices, managing data flow, and understanding the security implications of IT/OT convergence. This course prepares individuals to address the unique challenges of industrial environments, ensuring reliable, efficient, and secure operation of interconnected systems in an era of increasing automation and data exchange.
